Automatic machine for collars of various diameters – OPM

The automatic OPM machine is designed to produce collars of various diameters Ø27, Ø32, Ø42, Ø48, Ø60, and with holes of Ø11 mm. It processes galvanized iron sheets with a thickness of 2.5 mm, ensuring a productivity rate of about 1 piece every 10 seconds.

The machine, compliant with CE regulations, consists of various components including the base, feeder and straightener, a special hydraulic unit, hydraulic, lubrication, and pneumatic systems, as well as units for drilling, cutting, and forming. It also features an ejector, electrical panel, a PLC with dedicated software to manage the workflow, and a sensor system to monitor production status.

Following the feasibility study, the production sequence unfolds as follows:

• Mounting the specific mold on the hydraulic unit for the selected collar.
• Entering the production data into the PLC (collar type, length, and quantity).
• Starting the automatic production via the START button, beginning from the coil.

The process is fully automated: the strip advances to the processing unit for cutting and drilling. Afterward, the specific shape of the collar is formed, and the finished piece is automatically ejected. The machine continues autonomously until the pre-set production cycle is completed.

Thanks to interchangeable molds, it is possible to produce collars of different diameters, offering flexibility in production. The PLC acts as the brain of the machine, managing the entire process and coordinating various components. Additionally, the PLC controls active safety features and detection sensors, ensuring a safe and CE-compliant production environment.

With the optional Industry 4.0 software, it is possible to monitor real-time production data directly from your computer. The machine stores production data in real time and halts in case of an emergency, resuming production from the last piece once the issue is resolved.

Moreover, the automatic collar machine is equipped with photocells that monitor actual production and an electrical panel that centralizes all peripherals, simplifying maintenance and diagnostics.

The active and passive safety features ensure operator protection during operations, certifying the machine as CE-compliant and enabling access to benefits under Italian and European law.
