Engineer Lorenzo Palmieri has been by his father’s side, “Mast Clemente Palmieri,” since his early years, working in the family mechanical workshop that built agricultural machines, industrial equipment, and cable cars.

From a young age, he learned the art of sheet metal and metal profile processing, uncovering its secrets, driven by a passion for this world. This passion guided him first into teaching and then, in 1980, into the idea of creating a company dedicated to the production of special machines for sheet metal processing, capable of meeting the needs of small and large craftsmen who sought solutions for their daily operations.

His enthusiasm and innovative ideas inspired his team, customers, and family, eventually involving his son Clemente, who is now the CEO of the company. OPM machines began to gain traction both in Italy and worldwide, thanks to participation in international fairs.

Under his careful guidance, his attention to clients (“The customer is sacred, they must be pampered,” as he says), and the knowledge he instilled in his technicians and engineers, OPM today stands as a leader in the global industrial machinery market. The company has evolved from producing small machines to large automatic systems and profiling lines, all while never abandoning its roots or small-scale artisans.

Engineer Lorenzo Palmieri, a pragmatic and forward-thinking manager, has envisioned the company as a research laboratory, earning recognition from both the Ministry and the Region. “We are always in constant search of innovative ideas, capable of simplifying and automating even the most complex operations in a production process,” he says.

This approach has led to the development of cutting-edge machines and systems that have garnered significant interest both in Italy and internationally. “Specialization, the pursuit of innovative and dedicated solutions, and diversification of production,” Palmieri adds, “have always been the winning strategies for paving the way to growth.”
